80% of employers to increase salaries in 2022
As employers face the prospect of losing key staff to new opportunities, many are planning to increase salaries by an average of 11.4% this year.
According to the latest data from Australia’s leading recruitment agency Robert Half, 86% of employers are concerned about losing employees in the coming year.
Of these, 80% are planning to increase salaries for some or all of their staff. The average pay rise is expected to be 11.4%, with wage growth estimated at 2.3%.
For businesses looking to retain their top talent, competitive salaries will be crucial. However, it's also important to remember that salary is not the only factor that employees consider when deciding whether to stay with a company.
Other factors such as job satisfaction, work-life balance, and career development opportunities can also play a role in employee retention.
